Number of certified PR Planners surpasses 2,500

In August of this year, the Public Relations Society of Japan held the 23rd first-stage examination of its PR planner accreditation program, which commenced in 2007. The cumulative number of exam-takers now exceeds 10,000, over 2,500 of whom are registered as accredited Public Relations Planners after successfully passing the third-stage examination.

The PR Planner examination is open to anyone who conducts PR activities for a company, organization, local government body, or public relations firm, as well as students and others who may not work in the field but still maintain an interest in PR. The PRSJ awards three levels of accreditation—Assistant Public Relations Planner, Associate Public Relations Planner, and Public Relations Planner—in accordance with a comprehensive assessment that tests candidates’ knowledge of PR fundamentals as well as applied skills.
